My paternal grandfather, Versell E. Tuttle with Barton and Ruth Tuttle in about 1967. Versell was still married to Beulah at this time. They lived in Hamilton, Butler Co., Ohio. Versell was born in Laurel County, Kentucky.

My paternal grandmother, Beulah Fae (Parsley) and her son, Mark Tuttle in about 1967 during the holiday season in Hamilton, Ohio. I am guessing the year compared to other photos taken on the same day and by the age of Beulah's children. It looks like Thanksgiving by the food on the table but it was most likely Christmas. My family has turkey for Thanksgiving and ham for Christmas and Easter. I only spent a couple of hours on just a few Christmas Eve holidays with Beulah as a very young child and not again until the late 1980's to the early 1990's. I do not know about Beulah's house on Christmas Day because I have always been with my mother on Christmas Day. I may have been at Beulah's house on the Christmas Day holidays before 1969. I was too young to remember. My mother, Terry's family (Sositko and Cook) also has always had turkey on Thanksgiving and ham for Christmas.

A photograph of a photo of Pleasant "Lee" and Margaret (Ray) Parsley. The original photo was taken in probably the 1920's in Laurel County, Kentucky. This a poor copy of the original photo. I would like to get a better copy of the photo.
Pleasant was born in 1855, the son of Mary "Polly" (May) Parsley.
Margaret was born in 1852, the daughter of John and Nancy (Hodge) Ray.
They also lived in Harlan County, Ky.

Charles Parsley in WWI
A photo of my great grandfather, Charles "Charley" Parsley in the U.S. Army during WWI. He survived the war but lost his sense of taste or smell. He couldn't really taste food for the rest of his life after the war. He was born on November 15, 1894, the son of Pleasant "Lee" and Margaret (Ray) Parsley. He married Ruth Bowling in 1919 and had 8 children. He died in 1963 in Laurel County, Kentucky.
