This is a photo of my Grandmother Nellie Marie Stout Martin and her family visiting West Virginia about 1923. I believe it is Montgomery in Kanawha County because part of Montgomery is on the sign behind the people. My grandmother's home was in Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana and her father's name was John A. Stout. I am trying to figure out who these Stouts in West Virginia were and how they were related to my grandmother and great grandfather. Does anyone have Stouts from this area of West Virginia who would have had relatives there about 1923? I did find a family of Stouts close by in Charleston, WV. There was a Mary R. Stout living with daughter Mrs. W.J?. Mandt, and daughter Catherine B. Stout in the 1920 US Census. Do any of these names sound familiar?

These are Edna and Elmer Prather's children. This picture was probably taken in the early 1930's. I will list all 8 children, you decide who is who. I would like more information about this lady. There is little known about her.

Lola Blake who married Estelle Walls is the oldest girl in this picture. The little boy is Alva Blake who married Lillian "Zida" Darlington. The girl with her hand near her mouth is supposed to be Juanita Blake, who married John LeMaster. The girl who is partially out of the picture may be Bina, the other daughter, who married Sam Messer.

We do not know where this was taken. Possibly in the Fayette county coal mines in southern West Virginia? Kanawha County? This is supposed to be Ivy Stover. It is in pretty good condition. She was married to or was the sister to Vernally Stover.

This, we think is Cora Stover who married William Blake. She is the mother to Beulah, Quincy, Alva, Lola, Bina and Juanita. This was probably taken in Coal Fork up Cabin Creek Hollow in the southern part of Kanawha County, West Virginia. Maybe in the 30's?

On the back of this picture says that it is Mom Scott. I dont know who wrote it so I dont know if this is Beulah Scott or her mother-in-law, Virginia Collins Scott who married Charles Richard Scott. Do you know?

This is a picture of Bina Messer (sitting on the cushion) who was born Bina Blake, child of William and Cora Blake. She married Sam Messer. The other lady is Emma Jean Walton, Bina's daughter. Emmajean married Jim Walton and had 2 girls: maria and BillieJean.

This is a picture of two brothers. carnie and clifford Stover. They could possibly be the children of Ivy or Vernally Stover. If you have additional information about these people, I would be much appreciative to receive that information.

Children of Lola and Estelle were: Bertha Pauline who married James Wilson, Denver who married Earline ?, and Elizabeth "Tookie" who was killed at the age of 2, when she got away from home and was killed by a train.

Cora Stover who married Wiliam Blake and their children: Lola, standing on left born-unk and died August 27, 1996; William born-abt 1886,is holding their daughter Bina born-unk, and died abt. 1995; Quincy is standing in the middle, the Baby in Cora's arms is possibly Beulah Marcella who was born 2/18/1918 and died on 2/23/1993. The youngest was Alva, who was not born until 1927.
