Nicholas G. Martin and Rebecca Sexton were born in eastern Tennessee in 1811 and 1814. They moved to Lawrence County, Indiana in 1840, from Grainger County, TN, on a mule with their feather bed. They had nine children. Three sons served in the Civil War.

Andrew & Susan McPike Martin, Arkansas
Andrew & Susan (McPike) Martin were born in the mid-1800s in Lawrence County, Indiana, married in 1877 and began their family of 14 children. In 1887 they settled in Faulkner County, Arkansas.
