Charles Post Eismann was born on July 15, 1918 in Prospect Park, NJ to parents Charles Eismann (1886-1972) and Dora Almedia Spangenberg (1888-1982). He had a sister Thelma M Eismann (1910-2010) and they grew up in Hawthorne, Passaic, New Jersey, USA.
At the age of 22, on October 16, 1940, he registered for the draft in Hawthorne, Passaic, New Jersey, USA. His employer at the time was Walter Hunter.
During World War II, Charles served in the United States Navy. He was assigned to the ship or station called John Penn. On January 31, 1943, he mustered as a Motor Machinist's Mate Third Class (MM3).
Charles married Laura E Knaus (1914–1994) on April 27, 1947 at St. Anthony's in Hawthorne, Passaic County, NJ USA.
