Isabelle Jane "Belle" Bumgarner Jones
This is a photo of Belle Bumgarner who was born in 1895 in Watauga County, NC. Pictured with her are her daughters, Virginia Opal and Mabel Grace. We are still trying to identify the little girl. Belle was the second wife of David Fletcher Jones. She died in 1937 in Bluff City, Sullivan County, TN. Opal married Smith B. Gentry. We believe the picture was taken in the late 20s or early 30s.

Standing is my maternal grandmother, Nannie Belle Wise. She was born in Washington Co., VA, the daughter of Catharine McVey (Pictured with her) and James Wise. She married Smith B. Gentry, son of James Gentry and Mary Catherine "Katie" Phillips. We know very little about the Wise family. Nannie died at age 28 of tuberculosis when my mother was 7 years old.
