Norman Nixon
About me:
Love history and interested in the lives of those in my "auld" family. Started the Search for my family from very little data given to me by my mother. Stuck the paper in an old book for 20 years. Once I started I was "hooked". Was on the Library staff at our local university in the 1970s and knowledgeable in researching. I try to take some time each day for alittle "hunting".

Dessie Mae Shepherd Snider
Dessie was the daughter of Grover and Lula Basham Shepherd. She was the wife of Robert S. Snider or Bob Snider. She was born in Mulberry, Crawford Co. Arkansas. Later the family moved to Oklahoma near Bixby area. Dessie married in 1940 and passed away in 1950. She is buried in Bixby Cemetery, Bixby, Ok. This picture was submitted by her daughter Alice Snider Bass
Mintha L. Watkins Smith
This is Mintha L Watkins, when she was 19 years old. She is the daughter of Thomas & Laura Belle Shepherd Watkins. Mintha is also the mother of my husband Bob Smith. And, may I say, she was a wonderful Mother-in-Law.

This is my husband's (Bob Smith) Grandmother. Laura is the eldest daughter of George and Charlotta Shepherd. Her parents died at an early age leaving Laura to care for her five sisters and brothers. Laura lived to be 107 yrs old. Her daughter Mintha is the mother of my husband Bob.
