About my family:
I am the only child of Nida (Neth) Panes-Micu, a caretaker in Los Angeles and Gerardo (Gerry) Subido Micu, a former Navy shipboard engine mechanic and a mechanical engineer throughout the Midwest and Eastern United States. My parents divorced when I was barely starting 7th grade (around September 2001), and I'm just fighting not to repeat that on my end. As of November 24, 2024, I'm a single 35-year-young man hoping to find the best lady to be with (albeit her imperfections in life).

Shorinji Kempo Green Belt Ceremony (Zenshuji Temple)
After six years of absence from taking Shorinji Kempo with the South Bay (Los Angeles) dojo, I finally got my Green Belt. There was a bit of confusion regarding my grading after I passed the test for Rokkyu level (6th Junior Belt). But, I made it, nonetheless.

VFA-115 "Eagles" Aviation Electrician Shop - Family Christmas Photo (2010)
Taken at Club Trilogy, the main club open to all ranks on base at Naval Air Facility (NAF) Atsugi, Japan, at the town of Ayase, almost 34 miles southwest of Tokyo.
This was a couple of weeks after we had finished our 3-week exercise with the Japanese Navy (JMSDF) that year.
From the front to back:
1. Front - John (white suit, a Petty Officer First Class/AE1 as of 2024);
2. 2nd Row - Matt (fedora hat, black suit, red shirt, and white tie; died in March 2014 during a snowboarding accident up on the mountains near Tokyo), Jen (Lieutenant flying P-8 Poseidon patrol planes as a Naval Flight Officer/Navigator as of 2024), Tony (retired Senior Chief - AECS), and Katie (AE1 as of 2024);
3. 3rd and Back Row - Keith (AE2), Joey (whereabouts unknown), Mitch (now a Chief Electrician - AEC - and still serving on active duty), and Yours Truly.
What I'd give to see everyone again (except for Mattie whose grave I've visited at least a couple of times throughout the years as I've stayed home in Cali).
Christmas 2010. Lest we forget! AE - "Aviation Everything!"

Here's the 2nd photo of mom and me when I graduated from CPP on June 11, 2017.

Reiji Minato - With Mom (Cal Poly Pomona College of Business Class of 2017)
Giving my mom, Nida (Neth) Panes-Micu, a very hearty hug as she's one of the biggest motivators during my time as a business student at Cal Poly Pomona, 2014-2016. I owe it to her for making it up to this point. Here's to more graduations to come in various colleges throughout California, Mom!
