Wendy, also known as Gwen (Gwendoline) was my mother and I her only child from her marriage to David Henderson. I was born on 13th September 1943 at Caulfield, Melbourne Victoria. I've lived in Queensland for 35 Years. My name is Robin Ruth. Wendy and I became estranged when I was 16. Some nuns at a Hostel where I had gone to live kidnapped me behind Wendy's back and sent me to Italy where I became a nun. Wendy spent the rest of her life following my wherabouts. She never gave up. I became deathly ill but having survived, I was unable to rekindle my relationship with Wendy. By then she had succumbed to her own ill health. Finally when I got away from the convent I managed, throuh my artwork, to secure an old cottage in the country, I found Wendy who by then had had a stroke and I brought her to live with me. This arrangement did not work as Wendy was far too ill. I had her treated and finally homed in a lovely nursing facility where I visited her frequently for some years until she died. Wendy was cremated in Toowoomba. QLD. We did not have a Ceremony as the situation was far too painful for me. Wendy had not left any instructions or funds. I'd not been able to do much for her. Her ashes were simply cast to the four winds. I wrote a Poem titled OBELISK in which I emblished our tragic life and stated that I was now Wendy's living gravestone...the only sign that she had walked this earth and had contributed every second of her painful transit towards getting us back together, In the end she won.
