Emily Jane Cooke Tomes and family
Emily Jane (Cook) Tomes in coffin surrounded by her children. Please help identify all the people in the picture. Emily Jane was supposedly full blood American Indian. Does anyone have proof of that, or other information about her family. I've heard her father's name was Levi Cook. Please help!

fThis was sent to me by a friend asking for identification. "Bill Street's Children" is written on the back of the picture. The child on the right looks like my mother, Nelia Belle Street, born 5/21/1923. The baby in the middle has the look of a "Street" baby, but does not look like my mother's next younger sibling Sadie. The child on the left does not remind me of any of the family. Can anyone help me identify these children? Are these the children of William aka Will or Bill Wyatt Street and Permelia aka Amelia or Meally Vaughn Street? Is the child on the left male or female? It seems I've seen this picture, and that I was told the child on the left is a cousin, but I can't locate a copy of the picture. Can any one help?

Emily Jane Cooke Tomes was born in April 1836 at Nelson, VA, USA in Nelson, Mecklenburg County, Virginia United States. She married James T Tomes, and they had children William L Tomes, Julia Ann Tomes, John Henry Tomes, and Robert E Lee Tomes. Emily Jane's partner was James Tomes, and they had children Charles Wesley Tomes, Mary Susanna Tomes, Samuel Rice Tomes, Austin Glen Tomes, James Edward Tomes, and Alfred M Tomes. Emily Jane Tomes died at age 70 years old on August 30, 1906 in Manchester, Coffee County, TN. Family, friend, or fan, this family history biography is for you to remember Emily Jane Cooke Tomes.
