I want to build a place where my son can meet his great-grandparents. My grandmother Marian Joyce (Benning) Kroetch always wanted to meet her great-grandchildren, but she died just a handful of years before my son's birth.
So while she didn't have the opportunity to meet him, at least he will be able to know her.

My father's side is full blood Sicilian and my mother's side is a combination of Welsh, Scottish, German and a few other European cultures. One of my more colorful (ahem black sheep) family members came over on the Mayflower. He was among the first to be hanged in the New World for a criminal offense he made while onboard the ship.

Unfortunately, I was never afforded the privilege of meeting Jeanne. I do know that my father and mother did indeed have that honor. My parents, Mr. & Mrs. Wallace F Tabor, visited with Her and her husband, Virgil Ray Tabor and Virgil's daddy, (also a Virgil but 'Virgil Matthew Tabor'). I remember that my parent's described her as. "A delightful and a poised hostess". Yes, that was a proper quote. It's remembered, I suppose, because they did not brag often on people.. When they did, I always felt it was to make sure I'd remember and be polite, if ever I happened to meet her.
There is a photo here, on AncientFaces of that meeting. My father passed, just a few short years after that visit. I'm sure it was one trip he made in his lifetime, that he thoroughly enjoyed! I know he was happy he got to visit with them all!
