Virginia Harper Edseth Graham

My grandmother died August 19, 1958.

Dad passed away June 24, 1992.

I am taking a wild guess on what year this picture was taken. I chose 1928, because that's when my dad, Hershel R. Harper, Sr. was born. He is the youngest of 6 (4 brothers & 1 sister). My grandfather, Wade Lee Harper, had been married previously to a A. Emmaline "Emma" Wiggins who had 1 son, William Bradley Harper (named after my great grandfather) and 2 daughters named Esther Lee Harper & Ruby Harper who I don't know if they were still living at home or not. In 1928 Bill would have been 27yoa & single, Esther-24yoa, Ruby-22yoa.

There's too many of us in this small picture for me to give details on it. I'll have to get it enlarged to see everyone's faces and tryyyyyy to figure out who everyone is. I am squatting on the ground somewhere!

Back in 1995/96 I was told the man in this picture is my great grandfather , William Bradley Harper and the oldest boy is my grandfather, Wade Lee Harper. No one seemed to know at the time who the woman was or the other kids. Recently (9/13/04) I was told by a cousin that the adults are Wade Lee Harper & Zulah McGeHee Harper which are my grandparents on my dad's side. The three older children (William Bradley "Bill", Esther & Ruby) are from Wade's 1st marriage to A. Emma (Wiggins) Harper and the other two children are Wade & Zulah's (Cecil & Fred). Fred is the baby on Zulah's lap and he was born in 1914 which dates the picture between 1915-1916. At first I thought maybe the woman was Roseanne (Stovall) Harper or (Zelpha A. Sides) Harper of Hill County TX. I have heard from 2 different people who William Bradley Harper was married to and got two different answers, but haven't found any documentation to prove either way or both, only hearsay. Now this same cousin of mine says she has the marriage license stating William Bradley was married to Zelpha A. Sides in Hill Cty, TX. Maybe my great-grandfather was married two times????

This is William "Bill" Bradley Harper and his daughter, Emma "Pat" Addie Pearl Harper from his 1st marriage to Mary Ellen Winters. Emma was only 11 days old when her mother died.

Back Row is my dad, Hershel, my mom, Janet which she is holding my youngest brother, Johnny. Middle Row is Hershel, jr., Susan & Bobby. Front Row is myself (Virginia), Richard & Rosanna. We're in our Sunday's best clothes so we either went to church or someone's wedding.

Wife of Adam Graham who passed away in 1961. Nanny's maiden name was Gamel. They had 7 children which one passed away at birth & another passed away not long after birth. Her other children's names are 3) Dearl Gamel b:4/29/1934, 4) Reginald b:?, 5) Jimmie D. b: 9/16/1942? d:9/3/04 buried yesterday on 9/7/04 in Restland Cemetery in Dallas, TX, 6) Shirley Jean "Elsie" b:?, 7) Bob b:?

Here's my grandparents again! They sure did like taking pictures together! How sweet! I have many more like these! My true regret which was out of my hands is that I was too little when they passed away which gave me no time to get to know them. That makes me sad! I did get to be around my mother's mother half my childhood though. I am glad I am still alive to see my granddaughters growing up. One is 8 yrs. old (Shayanne) and the other one is 1 1/2 yrs old (Megan). I hope I don't pass away at least until I see both of them get married and have children!

This is my grandfather's (Wade Lee Harper) 1st wife, A. Emmaline "Emma" (Wiggins) Harper and their only son, William Bradley Harper.

This picture was given to me from my Aunt Esther (Harper) (Halbrook) Terry on Aug. 26, 1996. The people are my grandmother, Zulah Pearl Harper, and my grandfather, Wade Lee Harper. I was only 2 yoa when she past away. I don't remember her at all. I was told she was 1/2 blooded Chickasaw Indian, but that is heresay, until I get hold of a document stating so. You know how that old grapevine goes! I never met my grandfather because I was born in 1956 and he past away in 1955.
