Special moments of places and people captured on film and shared for us to remember.

Karla Salverson:
My father was born in ND. Moved to Washington State in the 60's. He worked as a lead mechanic on planes. While working he spent 10 years volunteering in the Fire Dept. In 1987 I gave him his first horse. My uncle gave me a horse and I passed him on to my dad. From there his horse passion grew. He adentured into gaming with me. Team penning, and trail riding came later on. He had health issues that allowed him to have more time for horses. I'm not sure but I think this is his college picture. Very handsome younger man. For those who knew him well, they know he was a grumpy old man in his old age but also very kind. He has lots of grandchildren and spent lots of days picking up his oldest grand children and giving them horse lessons.
I am very blessed to have had parents who spent weekends taking us camping and thru my teenage years they kept me busy and away from television. Between school and sports there was no time for television. My dad also watched very little television. He was too busy working and belonging to a cb group. Before horses he spent time on the cb.

This photo is of widow Robert Waldman Longo who had two sons, Richard and William. Roberta disappeared around 1939 when her sons were babies. According to Richard, he was playing ball in his front yard when Roberta said she was going to the store. She got into a taxi and was never heard from again. Roberta's husband, William "Toots" Longo died in 1939. Roberta's mother Nellie Waldman raised the boys after Roberta disappeared. A detective named Basil Creek from the Dayton Police tried to find Roberta shortly after her disappearance to no avail. Please contact me if you have any information about Roberta. We would love to find any information about her.
