This photo is believed to be of Dorcas after the death of her first husband, and she was left with two children to raise. Dorcas lived near Bloomfield, IN at the time. At the bottom of the photo it says "Ready for the races" which might have been in Indianapolis, IN. Dorcas was the d/o Henry and Toni (Pearson) Love. First marriage was to Veryl Foster Floyd and second to Roy Thomas Gardner.

Wm Martin Sparks. All lived in Monroe Co. IN. They are the daughters of Henry and Rebecca (Gentry) Burch and granddaughters of John and Judith (Southern) Burch.
Isaac Henry and Mary Alice (Molly) (Tate) Gardner. Isaac born in 1874 and Molly 1878. Both born in Monroe Co., IN. Isaac's parents were Thomas Isaac and Sabra Gardner. Molly was born to John and Nancy Catherine (Ballenger) Tate. They had 4 children, Iona (died a baby) Alton, Roy and Sadie. Molly's grandparents, John and Nancy (Weiss) Ballenger were from Bavaria. During the 20's Isaac was a well known tent preacher preaching all over southern Indiana.
Rebecca Linzey (Gentry) Burch born in 1820 in NC married Henry Burch in 1840 in Monroe Co. In. She died in 1906 and is buried in the Burch Cem. Monroe Co. IN. Her middle name is probably Lindsay. She and Henry had 13 children one was Sabra Ann. Her father was Richard Gentry who is listed in "Gentry's in America". Her mother was Rebecca Barnett or Barrett.

She was the granddaughter of John Lawrence and Judith (Southern) Burch and the great granddaughter of William and Mary Ann (Lawrence) Burch. She had 3 children, Edgar Erasmas, Isaac Henry (my grandfather) and Jeanettie (Sparks) Gardner. She, her husband, parents, grandparents and children are all buried in Burch Cem. Monroe Co., IN
John, W. Tate, born 1851 in Monroe Co. IN and died in 1882 same county. John was son of Jesse and Elizabeth (Brookshire) Tate. He is a descendant of Col. John Tate of Virginia who fought in the Revolutionary War. He married Nancy Catherine Ballenger who was born in 1853 Monroe Co. IN and died in 1937 in same county. They had three daughters, Lizzie, Lilly and Mary Alice. John, Nancy, Lizzie and Lilly are buried in the South Union Cemetery in Monroe Co. IN.
