Jerry Cottrell

The sailor on the right is my father, James Calvin Cottrell, of San Angelo, Texas. He appears to have sent this picture to his mother and he wrote the date on the back as well as the following inscription:

Art Cottrell
A second cousin and a swell guy.

The thing is, I don't know of any Art Cottrell nor do any of my Cottrell cousins. Does anyone know who Art Cottrell is?

My father passed away MANY years ago, so there is no chance to ask him. Does anyone know who this Art Cottrell is?

If there are family members who would like a copy of this photo without labels, I would be happy to send it.

I am seeking help in identifying the people in this photo. This was in my great-grandmother's keepsakes. It is taken from a postcard that was mailed to her by Ida Victoria Winger (maiden name Bechtel). My great-grandmother, Catherine Showalter Michael is the left-most woman among the three who are seated. She is the only one that I recognize. Since the postcard is from Ida Winger and she had several in her possession, I assume that she and her family are in the picture but I have no idea which ones they would be. Can anyone help? Also, I have listed the location as Marion, Indiana because that was the return address on the postcard. I am assuming that is where the picture was taken.

*Some say her name was Elizabeth Amanda Mitchell. They may be right but the 1900 Census lists her as Hannah E Mitchell. On subsequent censuses, she is Lizzie or Elizabeth.
