Charles Dunham Knight engineer working on "Devil's Railroad" Brazil
"Pop" Knight was one of many workers on section of railroad in Brazilian rainforest. The project was abandoned when the majority of workers became ill or died as a result of the effort, hence the name "Devil's Railroad'. The real name was Memore-madeira railroad or some such. Charles D. Knight's family awaited him in Brooklyn NY.

Frank T. Bryant, United States Navy
My grandfather was born Frank T. Helfenstein, but was adopted by Hartwell I. Bryant when his widowed mother married Harwell.
At age 20 he joined the Navy where he served in Cuba, Mexico, and, in World War One in the North Sea Mine Force. He served on the U.S.S. Blackhawk and was an electrical gunner.
Frank married Anna Theresa Knight in Brooklyn and there my mother Ruth Tilton Bryant was born in April of 1919. When my great grandmother, Mary Ellen Reilly Knight died in 1928,the family moved to Boston to be near Frank's mother, Nellie Tilton Bryant.
