I want to build a place where my son can meet his great-grandparents. My grandmother Marian Joyce (Benning) Kroetch always wanted to meet her great-grandchildren, but she died just a handful of years before my son's birth.
So while she didn't have the opportunity to meet him, at least he will be able to know her.

My father's side is full blood Sicilian and my mother's side is a combination of Welsh, Scottish, German and a few other European cultures. One of my more colorful (ahem black sheep) family members came over on the Mayflower. He was among the first to be hanged in the New World for a criminal offense he made while onboard the ship.

Andre Robert Boissevain was born to Cornelis Alfred Boissevain (1902 - 1963) and Mildred Sophie Goerwitz (1902 - 1988). His father was born in Java. He had siblings Thomas Alfred (1929 - 2003) and another brother Boissevain.
Andre was a veteran of the United States Army, where he retired as a Colonel. He served as an M.D.
Andre married Alice Louise Harvey (1932 - 2015) on December 6, 1958, in Vermont and they had two children, one of whom was son Dana Gideon Boissevain, born in 1962. Andre and Alice divorced in 1979 and Andre married again, this time to Dixie F. Haworth.

National American Woman Suffrage Association Parade
Lawyer Inez Milholland Boissevain riding astride in the March 3, 1913, suffrage parade in Washington, D.C., as the first of four mounted heralds. In her short life Milholland shared with many of her fellow marchers a commitment to social reform. She joined organizations striving to improve the working conditions of children and the lives of African Americans. She was also a strong supporter of the shirtwaist and laundry workers. Three years after the parade, she collapsed and died at age thirty during a western suffrage lecture tour.
