John Moir
John was my great grandfather. We believe that John Moir was not his real name, he anglised his name when he arrived in Scotland. Family discussion reveals John had a twin sister named Eva, his father's name may have been Joseph, the family originated from Bavaria. The story goes that John travelled as a 4 year old with family to the USA. John was born around 1870 in Bavaria. I have yet to confirm if the family name was Meyer, Meyers, Meier etc? John later travelled to Scotland when he was a young man and married a Bridget Wylie in Bridgeton, Glasgow in 1897. Bridget's family were Irish/scottish Roman Catholic. John worked in Calderbank Steel works as a Ships Rigger. He died in 1954 aged 84 years. He is buried at St Patricks Cemetery, New Stevenson, Lanarkshire Scotland. I believe that the remainder of John's Bavarian family stayed in the USA where the family ran a successful bakery business. Please can anyone help with identifying ancestors in the USA? Many thanks Ian.

Francis Victor McDuff
Francis Victor McDuff may have been born in British Guiana sometime between 1890 - 1905. He was known as Vic. He is believed to have been an Upholsterer by trade. He may have married more than once. He died in Roundshaw, Wallington, Croydon (London) in 1979. He is buried at Bandon Hill Cemetery, Wallington. I would really like to know more about him and anyone who is related to him. I am doing this on behalf of Vic's daughter, Victoria Emma McDuff.
