Antone Frassi Tucko
Antone Frassi Tucko
A photo of Antone Frassi Tucko, Footman to King Ferdinand of Austria. According to my family, this photo dates to around the later 1800's (exact date has been lost over the years) and that he was the Footman to the King of Austria (where that side of my family is actually from).

Validity if he was actually the footman to the King.
People in photo include: Antone Frassi Tucko

Smallwood Double Exposure
Smallwood Double Exposure
Photo taken by G.S. Smallwood: A double exposure "spirit" photograph of a girl holding flowers, surrounded by "spectral" faces of four people.

You may look at this and just see a double exposure. But this kind of "spirit" photo (often purposely faked, not accidental) was very popular around the turn of the 20th century. Photography was relatively new and spiritualism was very popular. This photo would have been seen as proof that the girl had three spirit guides around her, protecting her.

Taken around 1899, two Sioux Indians with spears on horseback wearing traditional hunting garments.

Heyn, the historical photographer, took a number of Sioux portraits which are available via the Library of Congress.

This photo was among my grandfather's things. His mother, Julia May Starling, was an actress, and I suspect she was a fan of this woman. My first thought was that they are one and the same, but I cannot tell for sure.

Who is this woman and what was her background?

Here is a photo of my Great Grandy William John Cooper Carr Masson and he was a guard at the Edinburgh Castle in Scotland. He was privileged to be raised at the castle because of his grandfather John H. Cooper's service in the British Royal Army. He was the son of Alexander Carr Masson and Emmeline Jane (Cooper).

B.B. King, Blues Legend
B.B. King, Blues Legend
This is an early photo of Mr Riley B. King (1925 - 2015) described as a blues singer, song writer, and guitarist - but better described as legend.

B.B. King (his stage name) was born in Mississippi on a cotton plantation near the town of Itta Bena. His parents were sharecroppers. His recording career began with his first single in 1949. It took a couple of years for him to catch on, but when he did, a legend was born.

He was married twice and had between 11 and 15 children. At the time of his death, on May 14th, 2015, he was living in Las Vegas.

You could say "the thrill is gone" but his music and his guitar, Luciille, will be with us forever.

Thank you, B.B!
