I've "rescued" an old photograph of Velma and Ora CROW which was taken at the Joslin Studio in Palouse, WA. The photograph appears to have been taken in the early 1900's with the two children ranging in age from about 2-6 years old. The girls are also identified as the "Charlie's Children". Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding this family:

Velma Gladys CROW was b.1 Dec 1902 in Viola, ID to parents Charles Summer or Sumner CROW (1879-1976) and Ada Louise or Lois HILL (1881-1983). Velma was one of 10 children born to this couple including, Velma Gladys; Ora Blanche; Virgie; Charles Ellis; Elzie or Elsie; Leta Josephine; Melvin Franice or Francis Melvin; and three others, all born between 1902 and 1919. Velma married twice, one of her husbands was Julius GARTZ (1897-1964) and she had 4 children of her own and died on 9 May 1987 in Spokane, WA.

Velma’s sister Ora Blanche CROW was b. 10 Apr 1905 in Viola, ID

Born in 1809, he was about 51 years of age at the time this photo was taken. While we remember him as having a beard, he only grew the beard shortly before he was elected. On slavery, he said "Whenever I hear anyone arguing over slavery, I feel a strong impulse to see it tried on him personally."

I've "rescued" an old photograph of Opyl BLESSING which was taken at the Bryant's Studio in Indianapolis, IN in the early 1900's. Opyl appears to be less than one year old at the time. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Opyl and her family:

OPYL BLESSING was b. 24 Feb 1903 in Marion, IN to parents William A. BLESSING (1869-1927) and Mary Grace STOUT (1876-1924). Opyl had one sister, Phyllis BLESSING (1905-1974). Opyl married Walter Edgel KIMSEY (1901-1988) and together they had four children including, Edgel D.; David Leon; Mary Ellen; and Esther A. KIMSEY, all born between 1923 and 1933. Opyl died 19 Apr 1978 in Pueblo, CO and is buried in the Imperial Memorial Gardens in Pueblo, CO. Her daughter Mary Ellen KIMSEY (1928-2016) is also buried in the same cemetery. It appears that Opyl may have been married more than once.

I’ve “rescued” an old photograph of Oluf JOHNSON’S children including Jessie, Ivah, and Geneva JOHNSON. The photograph was taken in the early 1900’s with the three children likely about 4-7 years old at the time the photograph was taken. The photograph is of 2 girls and a boy with the boy appearing to be the oldest. There is no studio or location identified on the photograph though it was recovered in Washington State. I’m hoping to locate someone from this JOHNSON Family so that the photograph can be returned to the care of family. This is an early photo of Mr Riley B. King (1925 - 2015) described as a blues singer, song writer, and guitarist - but better described as legend.

B.B. King (his stage name) was born in Mississippi on a cotton plantation near the town of Itta Bena. His parents were sharecroppers. His recording career began with his first single in 1949. It took a couple of years for him to catch on, but when he did, a legend was born.

He was married twice and had between 11 and 15 children. At the time of his death, on May 14th, 2015, he was living in Las Vegas.

You could say "the thrill is gone" but his music and his guitar, Luciille, will be with us forever.
