Salida Record (Salida, CO) April 18, 1919 Fri.
INFLUENZA CLAIMS THREE AT SMELTER TOWN
Last Sunday and Monday influenza, which broke out suddenly at the smelter town, claimed three victims, Jno. Zor, 31 years, Andy Fabian, 32 years, and Frank Poulich, 48 years.
The three men were critically ill when the doctor was called, pneumonia having set in and advanced to such a stage as to have gone beyond the doctor’s control.
An investigation was made which revealed the fact that there were several cases of the flu at the smelter, and a number of cases of tonsillitis.
The smelter school was closed on Wednesday noon.
Salida Mail (Salida, CO) April 18, 1919 Fri.
John Zor an employe of the smelter, died Tuesday of the effects of influenza. He was 31 years old and unmarried.
The funeral was held yesterday afternoon from the Churcher & Lorton chapel, the Rev. Father Larkin officiating.
The smelter school was ordered closed until a few cases of influenza at the smelter have recovered.

He died when he was only 24 years old by being accidentally shot by his brother on January 30, 1919. His body was shipped to Gainesville, Prince William County, VA but unsure what cemetery he is buried in.
