While John Hanson (President of the United States in Congress Assembled) is considered by some historians as the first President of the U.S., General George Washington is generally recognized as President #1 since he began his term after the Constitution went into effect.

From George Washington to Joe Biden, there have been 46 U.S. presidencies sworn into the top political office, all men.

First celebrated as George Washington’s birthday (on Feb 22nd), President’s Day became the name of this holiday around 1971. We honor all of the men who had the courage to take on such a daunting job.
