"Celebrating Thanksgiving with mom and Lisa. Kathy lived from 9 - 16 years old in Seattle. She had thanksgiving with grandma Nel and grandpa Shirley at noon and then at 5 they drove across Seattle to Magnolia Bluff to celebrate with Aunt Elaine (grandpa’s sister) since she wouldn’t talk or interact with Shirley (her step grandfather). Her father was Hollis and when her mother died they adopted out all of the girls including Elaine."

"I watch this show all the time and they all break my heart but seeing justice prevail helps. Joshua was just one month, one day young than my son Zach. Joshua never knew what it was like to have a loving and caring mother one like him so deserved, I wanted to hug him so bad and let him know real mothers aren't like this and how many of us moms would gladly take him as a son, I know I would have. But God had a plan for Joshua and his story will help others to forgive those who have hurt them, not for the evil others have done towards us but forgive so that evil no longer has any control over us. Joshua was a true soldier and now has his reward in Heaven a loving home with his father where evil can never live"
Frank X Aceves Jr:
Gus was my maternal grandfather. I am Frankie Jr. I was nine when he passed away. His daughter, Melba Joan Aceves, was my mother and she went to be with the Lord on 9/4/2018. I remember meeting my grandfather a few times when our family drove to Florida from California. Sadly, I don't remember much. I do remember my mother cried a lot when he died. As his grandson, I am 64 years old, and I am in ill health with stage IV metastatic pancreatic cancer undergoing targeted immunotherapy. I am in Danville, California. I am writing this just to provide a little family info for any family or friends who might be interested. Gus' great grandchildren, my children, are Christopher Andrew Aceves and Sofia Colleen Aceves. Christopher moved to NYC in March of 2021 to pursue his career in musical theatre and Sofia graduated from UCSB in June of 2023. She currently works in my business as a marketing coordinator. I am a financial advisor with my own private practice.
I wish I got to know my grandfather better. I have many photos of him and I have the folded flag from his military funeral. May he rest in eternal peace.

LEONE TURNER:
Always there - Osias, the name given at birth but always called BUDDY! My big Brother who was always there for me. I have so many memories of him - one being I was hanging out on the corner with friends and he came over to me and told me to go upstairs as he heard that a gang was coming into the neighborhood. I do not remember if I listened to him or not. I always looked up to him and how I wish he was still here! Love ya so much & miss you!!
Lizzy Canedy:
Uncle Denny - Dennis Canedy was my granduncle. Both of my grandfathers passed away before I was born, so Uncle Denny was essentially my grandfather. He spoke German, played the guitar, and was a World War 2 veteran. He had an eidetic memory and a wonderful ability to tell stories. I wish I could remember more of the stories he told me. I'm so grateful he was in my life for as long as he was, he passed away when I was 12, and I miss him dearly.
Kristin Dahl:
Great aunt Ruth Skari - Ruthie was my grandmother's sister, and when the two were widowed they shared a home above the funeral home that Ruth owned. I grew up in Iowa visiting Baldwin frequently and considered that my second home. It was not unusual for me to go downstairs to the funeral home parlors and help Ruthie 'say goodnight' and close the caskets in each parlor for the night, turning off the lights. We would also make food runs with Ruthie, delivering bags of food for those who had hard times, or were ill, infirm, or couldn't get to town.

Tragic Accident Claims Life of Young Woman
A young Menahga woman was killed and her infant son seriously injured in a head-on collision on State Highway 87 near Evergreen at about 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 13. Michelle JennViol Samuelson, age 20, died at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo from injuries sustained in the accident. Her 23-month-old son, Skyler Shea Jacob, was still listed in critical condition at MeritCare in Fargo on Monday.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the accident occurred just west of Evergreen, about halfway between Menahga and Frazee, The Patrol's report stated that a car driven by Lori Lynn Kumpula, age 20, of Menahga, was westbound on Highway 87, when she apparently lost control on the icy road and hit an eastbound Daggett tractor-trailer truck driven by Kim Schrader, age 44, of West Fargo. The contact between the Kumpula car and the semi apparently caused the truck to swerve and collide with the oncoming Samuelson car.
Angela Kumpula, age 21, was a passenger in the car with her sister. Both Kumpulas were treated for injuries sustained in the accident released from St. Mary's Hospital in Detroit Lakes. All three of the young women were students at Northwest Technical College in Detroit Lakes and were enroute to the school for classes.
The driver of the truck was not seriously injured in the collision.
The Wolf Lake First Responders were one of several area emergency response units called to assist at the accident scene.
Virginia Daire:
Mae was my aunt. She was married to Edward Daire and she had a daughter, Janet. - Interestingly enough, Mae was born the same year as Juliet Low, founder of The Girl Scouts of America. Mae was a girl scout leader. She helped me and my sisters earn our Girl Scout and Brownie Badges. She was the official who "graduated" me from Brownies to Girl Scouts. When Mae was a little girl she thought the smell of vanilla extract was so good that it had to taste good too. So she drank it hidden in a closet in her parents' home. It taste horrid, of course. But I'll never forget her telling me the story. She was a wonderful aunt.
Rosa Mendoza:
Mrs. Stella Sevier was a great educator. - Mrs. Sevier was a great teacher at Ascarate School in El Paso. All her students learned and enjoyed her as a teacher for first grade students. Stella was very a very fun and educated woman, we all learned something new from her. I enjoyed working with her and learned a lot from her. Stella was a great cook also for her family and church members. She is missed greatly. May she rest in peace. 😭
Jamie Younghans:
Edward was my cousin - Edward was my second cousin. My mother, Irene Curry, was his father's first cousin. I have fond memories of a visit to our Uncle Billy and Aunt Doe's house in Florida. His sister Roseanne was there too, as was my younger brother Tommy. Our cousins, Tara and Kelly entertained all of us. I remember going horseback riding, to amusement parks and doing a lot of swimming in the pool.
I remember Edward's funeral, a good few years later, and how sad I was that he had died. I was only a teenager myself and felt awful that he had died so young. I hadn't seen him for years, but I loved him. Rest in peace Edward. Your loving cousin, Jamie Younghans
