Jesse Tate and his wife, Elizabeth (Brookshire) Tate
Jesse Tate and his wife, Elizabeth (Brookshire) Tate
This is Jesse Tate born April 5, 1828 and died March 10, 1873 in Monroe County, Indiana. Elizabeth (Brookshire) Tate born in 1827 and died March 4, 1920 in Monroe County, Indiana. They married April 26, 1846. The handwritten note says: John W. Parents. Family members have argued that they look more like Jesse's son, John W. Tate and his wife, Nancy Catherine (Ballenger) Tate, but I am certain that it's Jesse and Elizabeth.
Hattie (Conklin) Love, mother of the Love children
Hattie (Conklin) Love, mother of the Love children
I have this theory which I cannot prove that Hattie's name originally was Olivia Allice Conklin. She was born in Vermont in 1852. Her family moved to Cloud County, Kansas, and she married Harvey Pease Love in 1877. She first had 4 boys: Robert, Walter, Elmer and Henry. She waited 10 years and then had 4 girls: Eva, Mary, Nancy and Cora. She died in 1928 in Greene county, Indiana.
Is this Uncle Walter?
Is this Uncle Walter?
We, on our side of the family, always thought this was Uncle Walter. One of my distant cousins on Ancestry.com has this photo for Uncle Walter's cousin, John William Love, son of Elias Love. We do know Uncle Walter served in the Spanish - American War.

Beautiful Celebrity Photo
Beautiful Celebrity Photo
2/8/12 Update:
Thanks to everyone's help, we believe we have identified this woman as being Virginia Bruce. While Claudette Colbert was a possible match, the photo that Judy contributed ( ) shows a striking similarity.

Virginia Bruce, born Helen Virginia Briggs, (September 29th, 1910 - February 24th, 1982) was an American actress who was featured in many films during the 1930's-40's, including "The Bad Man of Brimstone", "Society Lawyer", "The Invisible Woman", "Pardon My Sarong" and others.

Original Post:
This photo is of an absolutely beautiful celebrity. I do not know the name of this woman or have any other details outside that the photo looks to have been a celebrity photograph.

Can someone help provide details about this celebrity photo?

I picked this photo up in an antique shop in San Jose / Santa Clara California.

Who is this celebrity? Do you know when this celebrity photo was likely taken?
