Brooks & Mary
This photo was taken before 1900 When Brooks Buffington died. He was born May 1826 in Ohio. According to census records (1870, 1880 & 1900) he & his wife Mary J Farrar (1843 Virginia - 1935 Iowa) lived in Jeffeson Missouri for 30 years at least. He was the brother of Phoebe R Buffington /Woodyard 1832 Ohio - 1924 MO (my ggg grandmother). That makes Them my gggg Uncle & Aunt!

Pearl Elizabeth Woodyard 1894-1964 (daughter of Priscilla Anne Kinder & George William Woodyard & grandaughter of Phoebe R Buffington) & husband John Edward Rhodes 1892-1958 (son of Jennie Viola Steel & Hezekiah Rhodes).

Photo from the personal collection of John E Rhodes 1892-1958 & Pearl E Woodyard 1894-1964 Perry Mo area. It is unknown how or if Mrs. Beshears fits into the Rhodes Woodyard family tree. A tin type with paper glued to the back that has Mrs Beshears written on it. The front of the cardboard frame has J F Scanland Artist Frankford MO. It is possible that this is Elizabeth Givens.

On the back is a note to Pearl (Woodyard/Rhodes 1894 to 1964). The photo has been cut so the note is only partially there. All I can get is "Pearl" & "We are pulling out this morning"
I don't know the branch of service or the date. Pearl Woodyard/Rhodes had 4 brothers; James 1891, Charles 1892, Wesley 1897 & George 1905. I suspect this is one of them because on the back it looks like the word Mom scratched over just before Pearl's name.
