Fitzgerel Baby
I've "rescued" an old photograph of one of the children of Mrs. R. S. FITZGEREL which was taken at the Mattern Studio in Frankfort, KY. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1890's or early 1900's with the infant in the photograph about 1 year old. Mrs. FITZGEREL'S homestead is noted as being the house east of the School House. Someone has also written "God Bless you Sister" on the front of the photograph. I don't know if this means the baby was a girl or not. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding this family:
Robert S. FITZGEREL was b. 1868 in Kentucky to parents Richard Henry FITZGEREL (b. 1840) and Mary Jane FITZGERALD (1845-1937) or Mary Patricia OWENS (b. 1848) or Mary F. FITZGEREL. He was one of 5 children born to this couple including, Robert S.; Carry S.; Harriet E.; William T.; and Bascom FITZGEREL, all born between 1868 and 1879. Robert married Annie L. FITZGEREL and they had 5 children including Carrie E. FITZGEREL (1908 or 1909-1995).
Census records provide the following detail:
1920 census of Elmville, KY:
Robert S. FITZGEREL, age 51, born KY, parents born KY, a Shop Owner
Anna L. FITZGEREL, wife, age 29, born KY, parents born KY
Carrie FITZGEREL, dau, age 11, born KY
Jessie FITZGEREL, son, age 8, born KY
Richard FITZGEREL, son, age 6, born KY
Joe W. FITZGEREL, son, age 3, born KY
Clara F. FITZGEREL, dau, age 5 months, born KY
I am hoping to locate someone from the family so that this photograph can be returned to their care. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley

Neil SImon
A photo of writer Neil Simon. Born in The Bronx in 1927, he was a playwright, author, and screenwriter. Beginning with writing for early comedy tv shows, he went on to be a prolific and succesful comedy writer for stage, movies, and television. From "Come Blow Your Horn" to "Barefoot in the Park" to "The Odd Couple" - and numerous others - his style entertained generations.
Growing up during the Depression in an emotionally unstable household, Simon turned to movies (and comedy) for relief during his childhood. He said that this inspired him to turn to writing comedy as an adult.
He was born to Jewish parents and had one brother who was 8 years older. He was married 5 times (to 4 women) and had 3 children. And he left us with a wonderful body of work.

Johnson Family
I’ve “rescued” an old photograph of Oluf JOHNSON’S children including Jessie, Ivah, and Geneva JOHNSON. The photograph was taken in the early 1900’s with the three children likely about 4-7 years old at the time the photograph was taken. The photograph is of 2 girls and a boy with the boy appearing to be the oldest. There is no studio or location identified on the photograph though it was recovered in Washington State. I’m hoping to locate someone from this JOHNSON Family so that the photograph can be returned to the care of family.
